You will have free time to explore the capital city, which boasts an abundance of museums, restaurants, and clothing stores.
After a day of touring the city, you will have dinner in a local restaurant in Keflavik.

Day 2 / The Golden Circle Route
After breakfast, you will start your day with the Golden Circle. The first site you will visit on the route is the Þórufoss Waterfall, a little-known waterfall that stands at 54 feet high and is up to 100 feet wide.
Then on to the Pingvellir "Thingvellir" National Park Visitor Centre, where you can learn about the history and significance of Þingvellir through exhibits and displays. The national park features several points of interest, including the Almannagjá Gorge, which marks the boundary of the Mid-Atlantic Rift, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are in the process of separating.

Next is a 45-minute drive to Geysir Hot Springs. You will see the Strokkur Geyser, which erupts every 6–10 minutes, reaching heights of up to 65 feet.
Then a short drive to Gullfoss Waterfall. The name Gullfoss means "Golden Falls," and it's known for its mighty cascade. The Hvita River feeds Gullfoss and plunges into a dramatic canyon, creating two distinct drops that total around 105 feet in height and up to 800 feet wide. The first drop is 36 feet, followed by a second, larger plunge of 69 feet.
Nearby is the Faxafoss Waterfall. The name "Faxafoss" is derived from the Faxi River, which gracefully flows through the Icelandic landscape. The waterfall stands approximately 23 feet tall and spans 260 feet wide. It also features a fish ladder adjacent to it, indicating that salmon and trout are present in this river.
You will stop at the Friðheimar Farm. Here you will have an hour of free time to view the geothermally grown tomatoes from their greenhouses and enjoy their famous tomato soup and tomato beer.
Then on to the Secret Lagoon in Iceland, Hrunalaug Hot Spring, and Kerid Crater Lake.

You will go on a 15-20 minute walking trail at Höfði and view the lava rock formations in the lake.

After dinner, you will return to Sel Hotel Mývatn in Mývatn.

Day 6 / Studlagil Canyon to Hengifoss Waterfall
Today you will enjoy breakfast and depart for Studlagil Canyon. This canyon, located in the Jökuldalur Valley of East Iceland, is home to one of the most significant collections of basalt columns in Iceland.
Next, you will visit Stuðlafoss Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall located in the Jokuldalur Glacier valley. Its basalt rock columns characterize it, which is typical of Icelandic geology.
Then, on to Rjúkandi Waterfall, with its two main drops, this waterfall has a total height of 305 feet, with the tallest drop measuring 196 feet.
A short drive down the road is the Litlanesfoss Waterfall—a beautiful waterfall surrounded by Iceland’s iconic basalt columns that stands about 148 feet.
Next is the Hengifoss Waterfall. The third-highest waterfall in Iceland is 420 feet high. Hengifoss is eye-catching due to the striking red clay and black basalt patterns on the cliff face, which make a picturesque backdrop for the narrow ribbon of water cascading down.
Your final waterfall of the day is the Nykurhylsfoss. A hidden waterfall on the Fossá river is surrounded by majestic mountains, forming a fantastic view.
After a day full of waterfalls, we will check in at Hotel Breiðdalsvík with dinner at the Beljandi Brewery.

Day 7 / Fardagafoss Waterfall to Nykurhylsfoss Waterfall
After breakfast, you will have another day filled with Icelandic waterfalls.
The first waterfall will be Fardagafoss—a small waterfall located a short distance from the town of Egilsstaðir. The waterfall is a short hike, but it is worth it as it is a very enlightening experience.
A short drive to Klifbrekku Waterfall, which is a hidden wonder that has a series of seven waterfalls, with the main waterfall at 295 feet.
Next is the Beljandi Waterfall, which is not as tall as most of the other waterfalls and is unusually wide. The waterfall is especially appealing to photographers as there are actually two waterfalls, which pose a challenge to capture them both.
Your final waterfall of the day is the Nykurhylsfoss—a hidden waterfall of 50 feet on the Fossá River.
Afterwards, you will go back to the Hotel Breiðdalsvík, where you will enjoy an amazing Icelandic dinner.

Day 8 / Diamond Beach to Stjornarfoss Waterfall
After breakfast, you will have a beautiful 2.5 hours on the east coast of Iceland with occasional photo stops.
Your first stop will be Diamond Beach. The black volcanic sand beach is where icebergs from the glacier lagoon drift ashore. Here is a great place to see Icelandic seals, and it is one of the best places in Iceland to spot orca whales.
A 5-minute walk across the street is Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. The breathtaking, still, blue waters are dotted with icebergs from the surrounding Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier. The Glacier Lagoon flows through a short waterway into the Atlantic Ocean, leaving chunks of ice on a black sand beach. The fish-filled lagoon hosts hundreds of seals.
A short drive down the road, and you will visit the Skaftafell Visitor Centre. Here, you will have the opportunity to experience three waterfalls on a 45-to 60-minute walk. First will be the Hundafoss Waterfall, which is 78 feet tall. Next is theMagnúsarfoss Waterfall, which is 33 feet high. You can view it from a lookout terrace, or you can make your way through the bushes on the right bank to find several spots with beautiful views of the waterfall. The third waterfall is Svartifoss. A fantastic waterfall, over 65 feet high, the black columnar basalt formations beautifully frame the waterfall, giving it its name, Black Fall.
After a 45-minute drive, you will see the Foss a Sidu Waterfall—one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Iceland. The waterfall is 270 feet tall. The white strip of the waterfall, set amidst the dark mountains, can be seen from a distance.
A short distance down the road is Stjornarfoss Waterfall, which is one of the hidden and seldom-visited waterfalls in Iceland. The waterfall consists of two tiers, with one upper and one lower fall. The higher one lives in the shade of the lower one, as it is only visible from quite a distance.
We will then check in at Hotel Laki, just 15 15-minute drive away, and enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 9 / Stjornarfoss Waterfall to Blue Lagoon
You will depart after breakfast for Systrafoss Waterfall. A short 10-minute drive from the hotel, Systrafoss is the name of the waterfall where the river Fossá plunges over the mountain edge from the lake Systravatn. A beautiful hiking trail leads to the top of the mountain with breathtaking views,
A short 15-minute drive and you will experience the Fjadrargljufur Canyon. The canyon is 1.24 miles long and is about 300 feet deep with a small freshwater stream running through it. It has become one of the most sought-after locations after appearing in Justin Bieber’s video “I’ll Show You.”
You will take about an hour drive through the Eldraun Mossy Lava Fields. One of the most spectacular moss blankets is located on the southern coast of Iceland.
You will visit the Skógar Folk Museum, a cultural heritage collection featuring 15,000 artifacts, exhibited across three museums and six historical buildings.

Next is the beautiful Skógafoss Waterfall, which is one of many waterfalls on the Skógá River. One of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland is almost 200 feet high and 85 feet wide. You can walk right up to it, but be prepared to be drenched. It is overwhelming standing next to it!
After hiking up the 527 steps (yes, 527) to the top of Skógafoss and a 5-minute walk to Hestavaðsfoss Waterfall, which is located above the popular Skógafoss in Iceland. It cascades down a volcanic bedrock shelf in two steps, with the main drop measuring about 20 feet high.
A 7-minute walk will get you to the Fosstorfufoss Waterfall, which plunges over a steep cascade that has been said to resemble the face of a troll peering out of his cave.
Another 7-minute walk is the Steinbogafoss Waterfall. The falls drop about 25 feet in a uniform, curtain-style plunge that spans about 65 feet in width.
After a 2-hour drive, you will be at the world-famous Blue Lagoon. A Geothermal Spa in which you will have free time to visit. The water's milky blue hue is due to its high silica content. The silica forms a soft, white mud on the bottom of the lake, which bathers rub on their skin. The water is also rich in salts and algae. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 99–102°F. On our drive to the Blue Lagoon, you will see the volcanic eruption in the Reykjanes Peninsula.
Afterwards, we will check in at the Aurora Hotel in Reykjavik-Keflavik Airport. Dinner will be at the hotel.
